MURRAY ….. Just a little biography of my music career. It first started in the late 50s when I was given my first guitar. In the 60s I played with a band in Blenheim (my home town). Played at the local dance hall and local gigs. We were the only entertainment other than movies to play at the Palace movie theatre in Blemheim. That was the first night the Beatles film “A Hard Days Night” came to town. It all came to a halt in the early 70s when I moved to Wellington and persued another career path. I moved to the Far North in the 90s and when I retired I moved to Whangarei. Then 3 years ago I joined the Whangarei Country Music Club and started playing the guitar and singing again. 18 months ago I wrote my first song and they have just kept coming, so I decided to record some of them and make a CD. I would like to thank all those who have helped me along my country music path, everyone who helped me with my CD and now I would like you all to enjoy my CD, “Hi Flying Country” which has 14 tracks of original easy listening country music songs. Cheers to you all…..Murray e-mail …. murray.john@compassnet.co.nz |
